Route 1: Seafront Promenade (Easy, 8 km return)

Perfect for families and casual riders, this flat route follows the paved promenade from Las Fuentes Beach to Playa Romana and back. It is entirely traffic-free, with several cafes and ice cream stops along the way. Starts right outside Hotel Sancho III.

Route 2: Alcossebre to Alcala de Xivert (Moderate, 14 km return)

Ride inland through orange groves to the historic town of Alcala de Xivert. The route climbs gently on quiet local roads, passing through a landscape of terraced farmland and almond trees. Visit the castle ruins and the baroque church before freewheeling back to the coast. Hotel Sancho III to Alcala is roughly 7 km each way.

Route 3: Sierra de Irta Coastal Trail (Challenging, 20 km)

This mountain bike route follows unpaved tracks through the Sierra de Irta Natural Park, hugging the coastline between Alcossebre and Peniscola. Expect rocky sections, steep climbs and rewarding descents with jaw-dropping sea views. Only suitable for experienced riders with proper equipment. Allow 3-4 hours.

Route 4: Inland Villages Loop (Moderate-Challenging, 45 km)

A road cycling classic that loops through the villages of Santa Magdalena de Pulpis, Cervera del Maestre and Alcala de Xivert. Rolling hills, sweeping bends and very little traffic. The route gains around 600 metres of elevation and takes 2-3 hours at a steady pace.
